Millennium Slave is the two-part story of a man who will stop at nothing to reach his goals. When the novel opens, Charles Allen Hart has reached the pinnacle of success. Now locked in bondage thousands of miles from home, Charles works tirelessly to formulate an escape. He will need every ounce if his physical, mental, and spiritual strength in order to defeat the secret society of powerful men who have enslaved himself, his beloved Trudy, and so many others he has grown to care about; some of whom have never known the taste of freedom.
Throughout the course of the novel, Charles learns that control is an illusion, for everything he had was ripped away. He also learns that freedom is more important than materialism, and that wisdom can be found in the most unlikely places, and from the most unlikely people. Millennium Slave is an epic story of both heartbreaking tragedy and triumph of the human spirit.

This is a new author? Bravo! I was hoping against all hope that the rest of the story was a "done" deal. I immediately came to find the next book in the series and am disappointed that it isn't here yet. Hurry, please!I had my doubts; found myself judging the book by it's cover which is pretty different and didn't really appeal to me. But, I thought that maybe there was a reason that it had been done that way...And that seems true indeed.
I don't think you will be disappointed in the story.

Sijuan King, debut author of Millennium Slave has told a truly amazing story. What starts out as a getaway cruise to a Caribbean island for Charles Allen Hart and Trudy Henderson turns out to be an unbelievable nightmare. Wined and dined then locked up in a cage for transport to an island that time seems to have forgotten. An island where slavery is the norm and where the inhabitants of the island do not know that it is no longer the the late 1800's. The story is an interesting look at what slavery was like and how the greed of the white men portrayed perpetuated the continuation of black slavery as it was. The story is told in court where Charles is on trial for attempted murder and kidnapping. A story that most people would find impossible to believe. I am not sure if I would believe if someone told me something like this. Is Charles guilty or not guilty?? Well I guess we will have to read Part II to find out. I for one definitely look forward to reading the rest of the story. Sijuan King is a gifted storyteller. I enjoyed this book immensely and highly recommend it be read by all people no matter what their race.Millennium Slave Part 1
I seriously enjoyed this book from the time it was delivered to my step. I begin reading
nonstop, to the tune of 106pgs (Its a real page turner !!!). I am soooooooooo !!!! looking

Absolutely a must read. I highly recommend this book. Once you begin reading this future "Award winning novel" you will find that it is hard to put down. Will have to break my client's fingers for book two (kidding of course). I can't wait to see the movie! Let the bidding wars begin! SiJuan King you have done it superbly!!!!!!!!
This book was awesome. It is definitely a page turner. A book you don't want to put down. I have been checking for part 2. Can hardly wait.
The book flowed well from beginning to end. Kept me on the edge of my seat and coming back for more. Had to stop myself from reading the entire book in 1 weekend. Enjoyed that the topic is very relevant to the times...many of us take trips and cruises and could just as easily be misidentified or unknowingly caught up in illegal activity in another country.
Millennium Slave is irresistible from start to finish. You think you know what it's going to be about from reading the title....but you don't. This author is brilliant!! The storyline constantly makes you wonder `How is the author going to make this plausible?'--then, she does it! This book gives a perspective that makes history relatable to modern-day society. I loved it and I want to read Part 2 right now!!!
Millenium Slave is fictional and based on historical facts. As soon as I started reading, I was drawn into the story. Cleverly presented, it is everything you want in a novel based on historical facts. Si King's writing style enables you to feel what the characters are feeling, experience their joy and their anguish, and love and hate as they do. I cannot wait for Millenium Slave Part II so I can follow the characters into the next phase (I don't want to give away the details of the story line!) Also, the artwork on the cover depicts the story perfectly, and I love the detail!
